Nat, while I wouldn’t go as far as to say that buying a woman a drink classifies her as a “Gold Digger”, I WILL say that there is a large selection of women who will accept your advances knowing that they are not interested in you to begin with. The act of buying a drink is simply one of these ways. It’s showing that you are interested in them and if they accept, then she is saying “Yes, I might be interested”. There are plenty of women who are out there who WILL ACCEPT your drink knowing before hand that she is not interested (i.e. boyfriend, husband, whatever) in you. Specifically, the Law is stating, save your money, and use conversation to grow this interest. IF she did not come out with money to pay for herself, she shouldn’t be out. For the record, I have absolutely bought women drinks, however, its not to score points or impress her, its merely out of courtesy and I may be enjoying the conversation. However, there are also a fair amount of women that grow suspicious of guys who buy them drinks believing that the “Guy is trying to get me drunk.” But thats another story. Zie, I’m glad you understand where I’m going with this. I agree with you completely. None of these Laws are meaning to disrespect women in any way. It’s really meant to weed out those that might not have your best interest in mine and are only interested on what they can receive out of their relationship with you. The idea, which I can tell you already understand, is that she needs to prove herself to you before you start taking care of her and going the extra mile for her needs.

Never heard that buying a drink for a lady classifies her as a Gold Digger! This is some new theory here. In this case most of female population are already in this category…
A drink may cost $5-$20 and if a lady doesn’t like a guy, she just won’t accept it anyway. Any lady could afford a drink when she goes out and some are taking Cola if they don’t have enough money. No big deal. Ladies don’t accept all drinks offered to them just bcs it’s a free one. It’s a nonsense to believe otherwise.
So the rule doesn’t work indeed.

Buying her a drink is like trying to buy her attention. Don’t do it.

If she says “fetch” and you do it, she will lose all respect for you as a man, you good little doggy!

Be a gentleman, not a doormat. Make her earn that drink first, free or not. Reward her for qualifying herself to you, and both of your drinks will taste better.
