CB, I think you hit the nail on the head. Whether you go to Miami or Madrid, just leave your normal safe realms and go out there and explore.
You hit on a good point DJ Long.. You don't have to go very far to take a trip.. I have lived in several different worlds right here in the States. Of course the idea of exotic places, a man who can afford the trip, and name drop rivers in France is extremely attractive..No doubt...And so is a man who is interested in other people and the world around him enough to try something new in his own backyard. A man who is willing to explore new things and leave his comfort zone..Correct me if I'm wrong ladies, but this adventurous spirit is quite attractive as well..

i'm a huge proponent of this as the editor of this site can attest. I travel often and no matter where I travel to I'm maximizing my experience with the local fare and people. I will venture to a bar or pub or restaurant by myself and ask the waiters/waitresses for great local spots. I'll take pics of the food and drink to document the experience. If I meet new people, and I oft do, I'll exchange information and maybe tryt o hang out with them once more before I depart the area. Being from somewhere different lends to this "of the world" characteristic.
Also, there is the new rage (given the current economy) of the "stay-cation" whereby you travel a few hours drive. This minor event can be a great selling point. Especially, in areas rich with history and culture. I met a girl while in Brisbane who felt the need to see more of her own country before venturing too far out to see elsewhere. I too have a similar desire, as I have a personal "Quest for 50," meaning I want to visit all 50 United States.
This overall subject lends to the need to be a "jack of all trades, but a master of destiny." (just thought of that change at the end right now, enjoy)
