Man Law #35 – A Woman Practices Selective Forgetfulness…
A woman can remember the shirt designer and outfit that you wore when you first met her on Friday, July 24, 2002, but still forgets one and ONLY one item at your place when she sleeps over…. and they call us the forgetful ones!
She may look innocent but she is strategically planning where she can accidently "forget" one of her things in your room!
I first noticed this pattern in college and I wrote it off as something that only young women tend to do…An earring here, a necklace there… Now, a few years later, women are still doing the exact same thing! Why? Is this a territorial thing? Is this so you are left “wondering” what she is up to? Is it so she has a reason to come back or you HAVE to see her again?
I actually LIKE when women do this, but I’ll be damned if I understand WHY they do it…Women, don’t let your male counterparts suffer like this…shed some light here! Explanation GREATLY appreciated…

not only will they leave things in your room (ie, panties, shirts, ear rings, necklaces, bus passes), but some may eventually leave their “products” in your medicine cabinet too…
To have an excuse to come back. One of my former room-mates was so smart about leaving stuff at her bf’s that she managed to move to his place within couple of months… 🙂
Honestly, I just forget. I don’t have an agenda. If I’m really into the guy I’m not thinking about if I have my earrings in or not. I’m more focused on the cute guy. The more stuff I leave the more I like the guy because I’m not focused!
SB I disagree. If a woman deliberately leaves something at a guy’s place it’s because she’s being polite. She doesn’t need a reason to come back, she is simply making it more comfortable for the guy when he contacts her again. She knows he’s going to call HER, now he has another reason.
We actually do forget things at the guys place and trust me, sometimes we’re beyond not happy about it. It happens all the time, but guys leave their shit too so I guess it goes both ways.
It’s a territorial thing, and also a test. When you’re feeling more comfortable in the relationship, but you’re still not sure that it’s a permanent thing, leaving the odd inconspicuous item around his/her place is basically just marking your territory. Then either they give it back to you, in which case you know that it’s not that permanent yet, so you can step back a little, or they notice it and are okay to leave it, in which case you’re well in. If they are actually oblivious or they pretend ignorance, then you keep leaving bigger stuff until either they admit defeat and react as above, or you admit defeat and realise the relationship is going nowhere….
